The FOLTA Collection combines the complementary perspectives of two collectors.
The core of the collection is the works of Polish artists gathered over the years with care and emotional investment. The heavy representation of local Wroclaw artists is a distinguishing feature: Wanda Golkowska, Jozef Halas, Natalia LL, Maria Michalowska, Jerzy Rosolowicz, and Halina Wrzeszczynska are all included.
The collection is rounded out by works of foreign artists, including such representatives of the École de Paris as Mojżesz Kisling, Mela Muter and Eugeniusz Zak, and contemporary figures like Monica Bonvicini, Louise Bourgeois, Tracey Emin, Alex Katz, Robert Longo, Otto Piene and Luc Tuymans, who have had vital roles in shaping the language of today’s art. Women’s art is an important stream of the collection, emerging from female experience and sensitivity, the roles they have taken or redefined, and the contexts that have helped shaped their presence in modern history.
Our collection lives. It pleases us when objects from the FOLTA Collection are presented in galleries, museums, and cultural institutions around the world, and are used for academic and research projects. Reach out to us at: Loans | Research: wspolpraca@foltacollection.pl
