THE WORLD SEEN ANEW
On the Poetics of Vision in Modern and Contemporary Art in the FOLTA Collection
A publication accompanying the exhibition
Edited by: Małgorzata Ludwisiak
ISBN: 978-83-976951-0-8
Why do we need a new way of seeing today? What will we discover if we turn it towards the past or the future? The publication brings together essays by distinguished art historians and critics who tackle the questions: what follows from herstory, how can we understand the role of art and community today, and what is the role of places such as FOLTA Collection – a new space for art on the map of Wrocław.
The private collection, made public as part of the exhibition The World Seen Anew, proposes not only a new way of looking at the art of the 20th and 21st centuries, but also drawing the final conclusions from the herstorical revolution – towards the evolution of a new seeing and acting subject.
