11 April, at the headquarters of the Common Arts Foundation, marks the opening of an exhibition of over a dozen works by Witkacy from private collections, including our own.
The central point of the presentation is to reactivate the significance of Witkacy’s work in portraiture – it is among the most recognisable, and most fertile grounds of his work. The works at the exhibition, mainly from private collections, create not only a gallery of likenesses, but also a kind of map of the artist’s social, artistic and intellectual relationships, says curator Iwona Wojnarowicz.
